Nashville, IL

Increased humidity with temps in the 90's pushed heat index values close to the century mark. A 41 year-old construction worker was pronounced dead by 2:30 P.M. recently after working near Nashville. The decedent worked for a concrete finishing company and was taken to Washington County Hospital Tuesday afternoon. A forensic thermometer detected the environmental temperatures to be in excess of 104 degrees. OSHA and the Nashville Police Department are investigating the cause of death.
